Liangjian ZOU

Dr & Prof LiangJian Zou, the director of the Research Laboratory of Computational Materials Sciences, Institute of Solid State Physics, CAS. He received his PhD degree from Institute of Solid State Physics, CAS in 1998. Before joining Institute of Solid State Physics as a “Hundred Talents Program” researcher of Chinese Academy of Sciences, he conducted postdoctoral researches at the International Centre for Theoretical Physics (ICTP), Trieste, Italy.

Research Interests
High-Tc cuprate and ironpnictide superconductors, heavy fermion systems and other transition-metal oxides are typically strongly correlated systems, they demonstrate rich and complex quantum phases. To illustrate the essential properties of these systems, we perform the research on the orbital physics, quantum magnetism and quantum phase transitions, novel mechanism of high-Tc superconductors, etc.

Education Background
1998 Ph.D. Laboratory on Theoretical Solid State Physics/Institute of Solid State Physics, CAS
1991 M.S. Laboratory on Theoretical Solid State Physics/Institute of Solid State Physics, CAS
1988 B.S. Department of Physics, Sichuan University

Working Experiences
2002-present, Professor & Director of the Research Laboratory for Computational Materials Sciences, Institute of Solid State Physics, CAS,
2000-2002 Postdoctoral Research
in International Centre for Theoretical Physics (ICTP), Trieste, Italy
1992-2000 Research
assistant, assistant & associate professor in Institute of Solid State Physics, CAS

Opportunities
Postdoc and graduate student positions are available in the lab. Students and postdocs with strong background and interest in many–body physics, strongly correlated systems and computational materials are welcome. Any interested could send your CV to: zou@theory.issp.ac.cn.
